Epica


Epica es un grupo holandés de Gothic metal y Symphonic Metal que mezcla la voz mezzo-soprano de Simone Simons acompañada con guitarras melódicas y contundentes, usando en ocasiones voces guturales, coros y pasajes en latín.
La banda fue fundada en abril del 2002 por el ex integrante de After Forever, Mark Jansen. En sus inicios la banda se llamó Sahara Dust y tenia como vocalista a la cantante noruega Helena Michaelsen que antes formo parte de Trail of Tears. En octubre de 2002, Mark Jansen invito a Simone Simons con apenas 17 años de edad (y su pareja en ese momento), para ser la vocalista definitiva.

Sonata Artica es una banda de Power Metal finlandesa proveniente de la ciudad de Kemi formada en 1996 bajo el nombre de Tricky Beans. En sus inicios tocaban canciones influidas por el genero de Rock N´Roll, las cuales ya no tienen mucho que ver con su estilo actual. Bajo el nombre de Tricky Beans grabaron dos demos que nunca tuvieron un sello discografico; Friend 'till The End y Agre Pamppers.

En 1997 la banda pasó a llamarse Tricky Means, y desde ese momento hasta 1999 su estilo fue cambiando hasta hacerlo de manera drástica, enfatizando en las melodías de teclado. El vocalista Tony Kakko desarrolló un estilo propio para cantar llegando a ser considerado como uno de los mejores cantantes del estilo.

En 1999, la banda grabó un demo titulado Peacemaker,el cual fue enviado al sello Spinefarm y la banda cambió definitivamente su nombre a Sonata Arctica.

Dragon Force

Dragon Force es una banda británica de Power Metal. Fue formada en el año 1999 en Londres, Inglaterra a partir de los remanentes de una banda de Black Metal llamada Demoniac y de otras agrupaciones, tomaron en un principio el nombre de DragonHeart , que tuvieron que cambiar posteriormente debido a la existencia de de una banda brasileña llamada de la misma manera y que también tocaba Power Metal.
Bajo el nombre de DragonHeart sólo sacaron un Demo llamado Valley of the Damned que un tiempo después, ya bajo el nombre de Dragonforce, sacaron como disco completo.
